Literary Stars Headline Boston University's Annual Faculty Reading
(Boston, Mass.) - Nobel Prize-winning playwright Derek Walcott and former U.S Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky will be among the notable writers and poets participating in Boston University's Annual Faculty Reading on Monday, December 2, 2002. Sponsored by the University's Creative Writing Program - one of the oldest writing programs in the country - the popular Faculty Reading event began more than a decade ago.
Joining Walcott and Pinsky are other distinguished faculty members and alumni: Geoffrey Hill, a widely acclaimed and anthologized poet and a recipient of the T.S. Eliot Award for creative writing; Susanna Kaysen, author of the best-selling novel "Girl, Interrupted;" Ha Jin, winner of the 1999 National Book Award for his novel "Waiting;" Leslie Epstein, director of the Creative Writing program at Boston University and author of "Ice Fire Water: A Leib Goldkorn Cocktail -- Three Tales of Love;" esteemed poet Rosanna Warren, chancellor of the Academy of American Poets; and alumnus Benjamin Cavell.The Faculty Reading is free and open to the public.
