Memberships to Fitness and Recreation Center on Sale Now

(Boston) In anticipation of its brand-new, state-of-the-art Fitness and Recreation Center opening in March 2005, Boston University's Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance has announced the sale of memberships for faculty, staff, alumni, and part-time students.

For a limited time only, the university is offering three-month trial memberships to faculty, staff, alumni, and part-time undergraduate and graduate students at a discounted price. The trial membership will give participants use of the facility from April 1, 2005 until June 31, 2005. Annual memberships will be available to the Boston University community starting in December.

Membership benefits include full access to the facility, as well as discounted rates for non-credit programs and workshops. Three-month trial memberships are available to faculty and staff for the limited-time price of $99. Three-month memberships are also available for part-time undergraduate and graduate students for only $39.95. Spouses of part-time students and full-time students can also sign up for a trial membership to the facility for $39.95. Boston University alumni can purchase trial memberships for $125. For an alumni and spouse, the three-month membership is $218.

Full-time students, both undergraduate and graduate, will automatically be granted membership to the Fitness and Recreation Center.

The new Fitness and Recreation Center is a 270,000 square foot facility that will provide world-class amenities and service to the entire Boston University community. The facility features an aquatics center with competition and recreation pools, a two-story cardiovascular fitness and weight training center, an indoor 1/8 mile elevated jogging track, a 35' high rock climbing wall, two gymnasiums with seven multipurpose courts, racquetball and squash courts, access to individualized fitness and nutrition counseling with full-service sports medicine and rehabilitation services provided by trained professionals, a juice bar and lounge, seven multipurpose rooms for classes in dance, yoga, fencing, cardio fitness, and much, much more.
